Message from the President

With our humble beginnings in the food grain sector, today we have evolved to undertake the country's largest hydropower projects. I have both influenced and witnessed the outcome of the decisions we have taken over the years in all the sectors. Having undergone the treacherous journey so far, I must admit, with pride, that MV Dugar group is one of the handful businesses in Nepal that has not only expanded and grown in multiple dimensions but also been successful at sustaining growth for more than a century. Sustainability, I believe, is a much greater challenge than profitability or development. And the key to such growth is believing in a vision, and striving for its attainment with a quality of leadership that enables other people to believe in it too.

A testament of our growth is the ever-expanding number of people that are working with us. Our workforce today is composed of more than 3500 people and we have an employee retention of over 85%. It is indeed overwhelming when I look at the numbers. I feel both humbled and challenged. Humbled to be a part of this century old glory that is only growing and challenged to live by the values that have driven each of us so far. One of these values, I believe is the leadership that empowers through delegation of not just responsibilities but authority. This practice has conceived a sense of ownership in people that work with us.

Coming from a business family, I found myself following in the footsteps of my father at a very young age. With the devastating demise of our father, the responsibility to lead came sooner than I could have imagined. Yet, we took it upon ourselves to continue his legacy and enter a new generation with revised vigor.
